Our Marketing Policy
Virgin Mobile is known for its award-winning innovative and humorous marketing and advertising campaigns, which are designed to appeal to the young and young at heart alike. However, as set out by The Stewart Report in 2000, Virgin Mobile does not actively market to children under the age of 16.
We do, however, recognise that some parents buy our mobile phones to give to their children. With this in mind we have written personal security guides and have also signed up to the Mobile Content Code of Practice to ensure that young people who use our mobile phones are protected from adult material.
Virgin Mobile has now restricted access to sites that are suitable for over 18s only. If a customer wants to access to these sites, they must prove their age first. Restricted access applies to un-moderated chat rooms, too.
We have also produced guides on the latest research into the effects of mobile phones on health. These can advise parents about health issues, should they give their children mobile phones.
