Virgin Mobile wins award for MVNO of the Year at Mobile Retailer Awards 2006

07.07.06: Virgin Mobile scooped a big win at this year’s Mobile Retailer Awards 2006 when it won MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) of the year beating Tesco Mobile into second place.

The judging panel at the awards includes some of the biggest names in mobile retailing, including the heads of The Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u and The Link. The judges praised Virgin Mobile’s achievements and felt they had set high standards for customer satisfaction and service, which other networks had been forced to emulate. The categories that were judged were for customer experience, product range and value, innovation, development and marketing.

At a ceremony in London, last week, the judges, said, “Virgin Mobile have set the standard for MVNO’s the world over. They’ve grown remarkably over the last several years and with music and contracts there is the possibility of more to come.”

Graeme Hutchinson, trading director at Virgin Mobile, said: ”This is an outstanding achievement for Virgin Mobile. We are delighted to be recognised as MVNO of the Year in the prestigious Mobile Retailer Awards.
