BAE SYSTEMS today announced that it has reached agreement to sell its shareholding in BAE Systems Flight Training (Europe), a civil flying training school in Jerez Spain, to an in-house management team.

A new, £11 million pound, state-of-the-art production facility, that will be used to produce major assemblies for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter has been officially opened at BAE SYSTEMS Samlesbury.

September 03, 2003: BAE SYSTEMS welcomes the selection of Hawk as the Indian advanced jet trainer
BAE SYSTEMS welcomes today's news that the Indian Government has selected the Hawk advanced jet trainer aircraft for the Indian Air Force and looks forward to finalisation of the contract with the appropriate authorities. This is the third selection of Hawk this year (India, UK and Bahrain). The proposal for 66 aircraft will cover not only the aircraft but also support.
September 02, 2003: BAE SYSTEMS completes purchase of GKN's 29% stake in Alvis
BAE SYSTEMS plc (“BAE SYSTEMS”) having received regulatory clearance in Germany, has completed the purchase of 31,882,534 shares, representing approximately 29% of the issued share capital, in Alvis plc (“Alvis”) from GKN plc (“GKN”) for £73 million in cash (equivalent to 230p per Alvis share).
February 19, 2003: BAE SYSTEMS announces agreement with the MoD to re-structure Nimrod and Astute contracts
BAE SYSTEMS and the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) have today agreed changes to the contract structure for both the Nimrod MRA4 maritime patrol aircraft programme and the Astute attack submarine programme.
February 03, 2003: BAE SYSTEMS receives $485 million contract to support U.S. Air Force F-16 Aircraft
BAE SYSTEMS has received a $485 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to support F-16 “Fighting Falcon” aircraft. Under the 20-year follow-on contract, the company’s Mission Solutions business will continue to provide engineering services to the USAF and 18 international air forces for automatic test equipment (ATE) for the F-16 fighter. The test equipment supports automated diagnostics of aircraft avionics at air bases, depot locations, and deployed sites.
January 31, 2003: MOD selects BAE SYSTEMS as UK aircraft carrier prime contractor
The UK Ministry of Defence has chosen BAE SYSTEMS as the Prime Contractor for the design, development, construction, systems integration and support of the UK Royal Navy's two new aircraft carriers, as announced by the Secretary of State for Defence, Geoff Hoon.

With regret, BAE SYSTEMS announces 700 job losses in Barrow-in-Furness, 265 in its shipyards on the Clyde, and 50 from its Underwater Systems operation at Waterlooville, Hampshire.
January 16 2003: U.S. Navy awards BAE SYSTEMS $298 million contract for Aegis support
The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE SYSTEMS a $298 million contract for continued support of the Navy’s Aegis Combat System.
