In this section you can find some useful suggestions to navigate our web site and to get the most from the information we offer you.

Navigation features

There are several ways to navigate our site:

• To browse through a particular section, click on any of the section titles on the main menu. Section contents will then appear just under it.
• A link to our Site map is available on the bottom menu of every page. Click on any section title in the map to go straight to that page.
• If you are looking for information on a specific topic, try our Search facility at the top right of every page. First enter the keywords into the Search box and then click on any appropriate links that are returned.
• To return to the home page at any time, click on the Home button or on the United Colors of Benetton logo at the top left of every page.

Site characteristics

The site is optimized for 1024x768 pixel resolution.
The average dimension of the pages has been kept under 100 KB, to facilitate uploading even with a low-speed connection.

Accessibility

We have developed our site to make it accessible to as many people as possible, focusing our attention on the following most critical points:

• Text size: we have provided the facility to change the font size of the text in the web pages of the site. To do it, click on one of the “A” you find on the right bottom of the page, the font size will enlarge automatically.
• Font: we chose the Verdana letter, one of the most readable screen fonts.
• ALT-text: graphical objects are described with alternative text.
• Input device independence: it is possible to navigate the site only using the keyboard:
  - to move forward between menu options and links, press the TAB key
  - to move back between menu options and links, press the SHIFT + TAB key
  - to enter a section press the ENTER key when the action button is selected
  - to scroll the page use the up and down arrow keys.

Reserved Areas

In order to download or send via e-mail high-resolution images of our fashion collections it is necessary to register by filling out a short form, reserved only to press and media organizations.
Registration does't involve any commitment to the visitor,who remains protected by his rights according to the Italian Law n. 196/2003 on privacy protection.

Downloads

This site contains a selection of PDF, JPEG and Zip files that can be downloaded onto your hard drive:

• PC: right-click on your mouse and choose “Save as”. Specify where you want to save the file in the dialogue window and then click save.
• MAC: click the options key and then specify where you want to save the file in the dialogue window.

What is a PDF file and Adobe Acrobat Reader?

PDF files enable you to download and print “designed” documents. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software to read PDFs. Click on the icon to download the plug-in:

How can I access video and audio files?

Benetton publishes Audio and Video files using Windows Media Player, Real Player and Quicktime plug-ins. To see these files, you will need the software. Click on the icon to download the software you need:

About Java and JavaScript

Benetton uses Java and JavaScript for some features and navigation. For the fullest experience, check that your browser is Java and JavaScript enabled. If not:

• Internet Explorer: go to the Tools menu and select Options/Security/Custom level.
• Netscape: go to Edit menu and then select Preferences/Advanced.

Alert Service

In the Press and IR areas there is a Mail Alert service with which it is possible to receive, directly in your inbox, information about Benetton events and updates to the site in the areas of specific interest to you and an e-mail/SMS to remind you of the calendar dates of your interest.

External Links

In the site you will find several external links that will take you to other sites within the Benetton world – Benetton’s brands sites, and several other ones dedicated to Benetton’s communication campaigns and cultural projects. All of them do open in a new pop-up or browser window; if you want to come back to benettongroup.com site you only have to close the window.

Tools and functionalities

Search function: inserting text, a site search engine is activated, that leads to a specific page where the results of the research itself are shown.
Print page: this option allow users to have a “friendly” print of the selected page.

On our IR section it is also possible to find the following interactive tools:

• Interactive graphs: to compare Benetton's stock performance in the markets in which Benetton is traded (Milan, Frankfurt, New York).
• Investment calculator: to determine the current value and return of a given amount of Benetton stock invested at a specific value on the past.
• Historical Lookup: to search historical closing quotes of Benetton shares.
• Interactive calendar: to receive an e-mail/SMS to remind you of the calendar dates of your interest.
