Prof. Vincenzo Caianiello joins Campari board
Milan, 27 June 2001 - Prof. Caianiello replaces former Italian ambassador Renato Ruggiero, who has tendered his resignation following his appointment as foreign secretary in the new government led by Silvio Berlusconi. Prof. Caianiello has also joined the Appointments and Remuneration Committee set up by the company in compliance with the self-regulatory guidelines for listed companies.
Prof. Caianiello's distinguished legal career has included a number of senior appointments in the academic, political and administrative spheres. He currently holds the chair of Administrative Law in the Economics faculty of Rome's LUISS University. He was president of the Constitutional Court in 1995 and minister of justice in the government led by Lamberto Dini. He is also honorary president of the Council of State.
In the period leading up to stock market listing of Campari, the appointment of Prof. Caianiello continues the Group tradition of excellence in corporate governance. As non-executive director he joins the other members of the company board: Cesare Ferrero, Franzo Grande Stevens, Giovanni Rubboli and Marco Vitale.
