1979	Business founded by Bill and Jean Adderley, selling curtains on a Leicester market stall.
1984	First Dunelm store opened in Churchgate, Leicester.
1991	First Superstore opened in Rotherham.
1996	Will Adderley appointed as Managing Director.
1999	Head office and warehouse established in Syston, Leicester.
2000	35th store opened.
2001	Acquisition of Bellbird Ltd, custom-made curtain facility.
2002	New Central Warehouse opened in Burton. 50th store opened.
2003	60th store opened. David Stead joins as Finance Director.
2004	Geoff Cooper appointed as Non-Executive Chairman. Marion Sears appointed as Non-Executive Director. 70th store opened.
2006	80th store opened. Launch of online store. Opening of Stoke warehouse. Flotation on London Stock Exchange.
2007	84th store opens Simon Emeny appointed as Non-Executive Director
2008	90th store opens Worldwide rights to Dorma brand acquired
