Hawker Siddeley Aircraft changed its name to the Hawker Siddeley Group in 1948 and the aircraft division of the group became known as Hawker Siddeley Aviation.
In 1959 it acquired Folland Aircraft, followed by the de Havilland Aircraft Company and Blackburn Aircraft Limited in 1960. In 1977 Hawker Siddeley Aviation was nationalised and merged with the British Aircraft Corporation and Scottish Aviation to form British Aerospace.
