National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum was created by the National Maritime Act of 1934.  The museum opened in April 1937 and houses a wide and varied collection of exhibits relating to Britain's extensive naval heritage.  In addition, the museum houses an extensive archive of objects and documents relating to seafaring, navigation and ships.
