                    Appointment of Non-Executive Director 
 
T&F Informa plc, a leading provider of high value, specialist information to the 
academic, professional and commercial markets, announced today the appointment 
of Pamela J. Kirby PhD as a Non-Executive Director of the company with effect 
from 1 September 2004. 
 
Dr Kirby (50) is currently a Non-Executive Director of Smith and Nephew plc and 
Oscient Pharmaceuticals Corporation. She was previously CEO of US based 
Quintiles Transnational Corporation, a  provider of product development and 
commercial services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Prior to 
joining Quintiles, Dr Kirby held various senior positions in the pharmaceutical 
industry at Astra AB (now AstraZeneca PLC), British Biotech plc (now Vernalis 
plc) and F. Hoffmann-La Roche Limited. Dr Kirby has a PhD in Clinical 
Pharmacology from the University of London. 
 
Commenting on the appointment David Smith, Chairman of T&F Informa said:
