                                BOARD CHANGES 
 
 
T&F Informa plc announced today the appointment of Richard Hooper as 
non-executive chairman. Richard was the senior non-executive director on the 
board and Derek Mapp will now take on that role. Both appointments are with 
immediate effect. 
 
 
Richard Hooper has been connected with the company in a board capacity since 
1997 and has considerable experience of the media sector. He is currently deputy 
chairman of Ofcom and an independent assessor to the Department of Culture, 
Media and Sport on Public Appointments. During his career, Richard has worked 
for the BBC and British Telecom and held non-executive directorships at MAI/ 
United News and Media plc and Superscape plc. 
 
 
David Smith is stepping down as Chairman and will be leaving the company due to 
personal circumstances. 
 
 
Commenting, David Smith said: 
 
 
"The appointment of Richard will ensure consistency and stability for the Group. 
He knows the business well and has considerable experience of the media sector. 
It is with sadness that I'm leaving T&F Informa, but my reasons are purely 
personal and I wish the team every success. The results today confirm that the 
business is making good progress and the benefits of the merger are showing 
through." 
 
 
 
Peter Rigby, Chief Executive, said: 
 
 
 
"While welcoming Richard to the position of non-executive chairman, to which he 
will bring considerable experience, it is with much regret that David is 
stepping down. We will miss his counsel and guidance and thank him for his work
