Informa Australia has today announced the acquisition of Auscom Publishing Pty Ltd for a cash consideration of Aus$1.9 million.

Auscom is a Sydney-based publisher, which produces three high quality magazines, including the market leader, CommsWorld, e-Access and Systems as well as a variety of speciality publications. Together with Asia-Pacific Banking Technology which was launched earlier this year, the new titles will form Informa Australia's IT and Telecoms Publishing Unit.

The acquisition significantly enhances Informa's portfolio of publications in Australia, which includes Lloyd's List Daily Commercial News, Australian Journal of Mining, Earthmover & Civil Contractor, Public Works Engineering, Logistics Buyer and Australian Purchasing & Supply.

It is also a major opportunity to brand existing conferences and to launch new branded events off the titles in the areas of telecoms, e-commerce, customer relationship management and IT for the Australian market.
