Informa Group Plc announced today the acquisition of Washington Policy and Analysis Inc., a provider of energy information to international energy and technology companies, for an initial consideration of $3m in cash with an earn-out of up to $10m in cash based on profit performance over 3 years.
Washington Policy and Analysis Inc. (WPA) provides business intelligence, government policy advice and analysis to utility companies whose businesses are affected by US energy policies. WPA was started by Scott Campbell and Bill Martin in 1988 and had revenues of $2m for the year to December 1998.
Informa Group is an international business information and communications group, created by the merger of IBC Group plc and LLP Group plc in 1998.
