Join in the fun at the West Runton station tea party

National Express East Anglia’s West Runton station will resound to the clink of china on Saturday when the station sees the return of the popular annual tea party. 

The West Runton station adopters and Runton’s & District Women’s Institute will be holding their Annual West Runton Station Tea Party on Saturday 29 August 2009 from 14.00 – 16.00.

Visitors to this scenic station will be able to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea, including buttered scones, jam, homemade cakes and tea.  In addition to this, there will also be stalls selling local produce, homemade cakes, second-hand goods and a raffle.

James Steward, National Express East Anglia’s Area Manager – Rural Routes commented:

“The Annual West Runton Station Tea Party is a wonderful day out for all of the family. What the station adopters and the Women’s Institute achieve on the day and throughout the year at the station is remarkable. I would like to thank them for their efforts.’ 

The West Runton station adopters are keen gardeners. Such is their skill that in 2006 West Runton won the ‘Anglia in Bloom’ Best station award. To support their efforts, all proceeds from the Tea party will contribute to the planting and upkeep of the station garden.

All are welcome to attend, so come along and join in the fun at the West Runton Tea Party and help the station garden to continue to flourish.

West Runton station is situated on the picturesque Bittern Line, which connects the ancient city of Norwich with the North Norfolk coastal towns of Cromer and Sheringham. In August 2008, the Bittern Line was recognised as one of the 50 best railway journeys in the world.
