Pinewood Shepperton plc is cognisant of its environmental responsibilities and has a comprehensive, Board reviewed policy. This policy seeks to minimise the adverse impact on the environment from the Company’s activities, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and to continuously improve environmental performance. It further seeks to establish appropriate targets to monitor such issues as fuel gas consumption and waste recycling rates, as well as consideration of such aspects as the storage and use of hazardous substances, the effective management of waste, and management of the potential impact on third parties resulting from the Company’s activities. The Company has also established procedures which seek to ensure that environmental disciplines are endorsed and supported by customers and suppliers of Pinewood Shepperton plc. The Group’s proposed studio enhancement plans will actively consider the use of technologies and practices which support the environment, including the review of energy efficiency, recycling of water and waste and solar energy.
The Company is also seeking to raise general awareness of green issues by encouraging recycling and energy efficient means of transport, demonstrated by the first step in implementation of a Green Travel Plan for the Group, which has introduced a free shuttle bus service to and from local underground and train stations, available to all staff, customers and visitors to the sites.
The Company is committed to the continuous monitoring and enhancement of its health and safety performance by actively
encouraging a proactive health and safety culture. The published policy seeks to achieve this by ensuring a corporate-wide
understanding of health and safety obligations amongst its employees, and the provision of effective communication and
training to ensure that these objectives are met. The Company actively seeks the views of its employees on relevant health
and safety issues, including the development of health and safety policies and procedures. The Company is also committed
to enhancement of industry health and safety performance and to that end established and hosted an annual conference
with the support of the Health and Safety Executive during 2007.
Board responsibility for environmental and health and safety issues is with the Finance Director, with monthly monitoring by the Board of relevant issues, supported operationally by the Head of Group HR and Health and Safety.
