We have engaged extensively with aid agencies and international institutions to build capability in the areas of communities, education and health. Since 1996, QMM has worked with specialist environmental organisations researching the region's biodiversity.
Active engagement with local, national and international stakeholders is fundamental to the success of our business. Working in partnership with others means we can tackle problems and seek solutions acceptable to all parties. We pool skills and resources to achieve outcomes none of us could achieve on our own. We set out to build enduring relationships with our neighbours, which are characterised by mutual respect, active partnership, and long term commitment.
Interconnections between mining operations, environmental conditions, and the social and economic situation are complex. We are learning many new ways of working with partners in the region and how mining can facilitate a more sustainable environment.
