12/01/2000 QXL.com ACQUIRES LARGEST DANISH AUCTION SITE And signs exclusive three year agreement with leading Danish portal Jubii.dk LONDON, Jan. 12, 2000 - QXL.com plc (LSE:QXL.L; NASDAQ:QXLC), the pan-European online auctioneer, announces today the acquisition of the largest Danish online auction site, Jubii Auktion. The consideration will be 510,000 QXL.com Ordinary Shares, which have a current market value of £6.6m. Jubii Auktion, (http://auktion.jubii.dk), is the largest consumer-to-consumer auction web site in Denmark, with over 30,000 members at the end of 1999, and was the auction business of the leading Danish portal, Jubii A/S. Jubii Auktion has no audited accounts and no material net assets. In addition to the acquisition of the auction business, QXL.com has also signed an exclusive three-year deal with Jubii A/S, the leading search engine and directory service in Denmark with 1.7m unique users according to AC Nielsen AIM (WebCheck Q399). This three-year agreement will give the newly acquired site full integration into the Jubii service and guarantees nearly 2 billion page impressions in total. Jubii Auktion will be integrated into a new QXL web site. It is the second acquisition by QXL.com in Scandinavia, following the acquisition of QXL Norway from DinSide in December 1999.
