QXL.com and The Times Newspapers Limited announce exclusive auction partnership

London, 29th November 2001 - QXL.com ('QXL'), the UK division of QXL ricardo plc, and The Times Newspapers Limited ('TNL') today announce an exclusive content and e-commerce agreement.

The agreement will provide:

  • Both The Times and The Sunday Times readers access to exclusive QXL auctions.
  • The opportunity for QXL and TNL partners to run unique promotions through the co-branded environment.
  • A number of exclusive and exciting auction events to be marketed to audiences of The Times, The Sunday Times and QXL.

The agreement will enable Times readers to bid for a continuous selection of items offered by QXL.com's auction community in a specially created, co-branded auction environment, www.thetimes.co.uk/auctions.

In addition to this dedicated auction area which is within thetimes.co.uk's shopping channel and will be exclusively populated by QXL auctions, visitors will find integrated auctions throughout the site, in categories such as Travel, Music, Film, Sport and Home & Garden. The official launch date is Monday 3rd December.

Through this partnership, QXL and TNL will offer their respective partners, such as sellers or advertisers, unique, cross-media promotional opportunities. These promotions may be supported offline through The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers and supplements and online through the QXL and thetimes.co.uk sites.

Through this partnership QXL members, The Times and The Sunday Times readers will also enjoy exclusive auction events.
