Stagecoach Holdings plc ("Stagecoach" or "the Group") today announces the following Board changes.
Martin Griffiths (34), currently Group Business Development Manager, is promoted to the post of Group Finance Director with immediate effect. He will report directly to Keith Cochrane, Group Chief Executive.
Ann Gloag, co-founder of Stagecoach and currently an Executive Director of the Group, has indicated a desire to cease her executive responsibilities with effect from 1 May 2000. She will remain with the Group as a Non Executive Director. The Board also intends to appoint at least one further Non Executive Director in due course.
Commenting on today's announcement, Keith Cochrane, Chief Executive said: "Ann has made a unique contribution to the development of the Group over the last 20 years but is now seeking an opportunity to pursue her charitable and other interests. I am delighted that she will remain with the Group in a Non Executive role.
"I welcome Martin on to the Board at what is a challenging time for the Group. His appointment has the unanimous support of the Board given that he has already made a significant contribution to the overall development of the Group and its commercial activities over the last 3 years. His close involvement with all aspects of the business, particularly the ongoing integration of Coach USA and the forthcoming re-tender for the SWT franchise, make him ideally placed in his new role to support the Group's development."
