Malcolm Williamson (age 66) has joined Signet Group plc (“Signet”) as a non-executive director. Mr. Williamson is Chairman of National Australia Group Europe Limited and Deputy Chairman of Resolution PLC (previously having been Chairman of Britannic Group PLC). He is also a non-executive director of JP Morgan Cazenove Holdings and Group 4 Securicor PLC (previously having been a non-executive director of Securicor PLC).

Malcolm Williamson was President and CEO of Visa International, based in San Francisco, between 1998 and 2004 before which he was Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered PLC from 1993 to 1998.

Signet operated 1,803 speciality retail jewellery stores at 29 October 2005; these included 1,202 stores in the US, where the Group trades as “Kay Jewelers”, “Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry” and under a number of regional names.
