Signet is pleased to announce that Mark Light (44), has been appointed Chief Executive of the Group’s US Division and to the main Board of Signet as an Executive Director. Mr Light joined the Group in 1978 and has been President and Chief Operating Officer of the US business since 2002.

Terry Burman, Group Chief Executive, who until now was also Chief Executive of the US Division, will remain Executive Chairman of that business.

There are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6 of the Listing Rules.

Signet operated 1,820 speciality retail jewellery stores at 31 December 2005; these included 1,219 stores in the US, where the Group trades as “Kay Jewelers”, “Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry” and under a number of regional names.
