Spiritel Technologies signs reseller agreement with HBT Communications

Spiritel plc (AIM: STP), the telecommunications services business, is pleased to
announce that it has signed a reseller agreement with HBT Communications Limited
("HBT"), under which Spiritel Technologies will provide HBT with a range of VoIP
(voice over internet protocol) products and services including IP trunking and
hosted broadband telephony.

HBT, which was established in 1988 and is based in the West Midlands, is a
provider of integrated communications solutions to more than 3,500 small and
medium sized businesses and corporate customers. HBT is a reseller of products
from companies including Panasonic, Avaya, Mitel and Swyx.

HBT has chosen Spiritel Technologies' VoIP products and services because of
their SIP-compliant technology and the competitive call rates available through
Spiritel's Expo Communications voice termination division.

VoIP technology, which enables phone calls to be carried over data networks such
as the internet, substantially reduces call costs compared with traditional
fixed line telephony services and offers enhanced calling features such as
voicemail to e-mail, follow-me, conferencing, fax to e-mail and CLI
authentication.

Commenting on this agreement, Alastair Mills, Spiritel's Chief Executive, said:
"I am delighted to welcome HBT Communications as a reseller of Spiritel
Technologies' VoIP products and services, which combine advanced telephony
solutions with reduced costs. We believe that our products will be of
significant benefit to HBT's customers, who will be able to join the rapidly
growing number of businesses and consumers that are adopting VoIP for their
telephony requirements."

About Spiritel plc

Spiritel (AIM: STP) is the holding company for a growing group of companies
whose focus is telecommunications services and products. Spiritel, through its
Spiritel Technologies division, has developed a suite of leading-edge VoIP
products, positioning the Company to benefit from the migration from traditional
telephony to VoIP services. Spiritel Technologies' route to market is via
reseller partners. Spiritel's initial trading division, Expo Communications, was
founded in 2000 and is one of Europe's leading call termination businesses
focussing on calls from fixed lines to mobiles. Expo's client base includes
Telewest, Level (3), Colt, One.Tel and Your Communications among others.
Spiritel Technologies' VoIP products are highly complementary to Expo's
termination services as most phone calls made via VoIP require termination in
the same way as calls from traditional fixed line phones.

Spiritel joined the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in July 2004.
