Launches VoipVoucher service for low-cost international calls
Spiritel plc (AIM: STP), the telecommunications services business, is pleased to
announce that it has launched VoipVoucher, an international call service that
allows mobile phone and other touch-tone phone users to make low-cost calls via
voice over internet protocol ( VoIP).
The service, which offers savings of up to 60 per cent compared with standard
international call tariffs, allows users to manage their calls through the
website www.voipvoucher.com, where they can view their call history, check their
credit balances and perform online top-ups with a credit or debit card or a
pre-purchased voucher.
Users can register up to 10 numbers per calling account, making the service an
attractive option for small businesses and for families wishing to save on
international call costs. The product is simple to use and, unlike traditional
calling cards, does not require the use of a PIN or account number each time a
call is made as the caller's number is automatically recognised by the VoIP
platform.
Spiritel intends to market the product, which will compete with traditional
calling cards, through both retail and distributor channels and to provide a
white-label option for resellers. In addition, users can join the service
directly via the VoipVoucher website.
