                         ("Spiritel" or "the Company")

Launches 118 918 - the directory enquiries service that supports Oxfam

Spiritel plc (AIM: STP), the telecommunications company, is pleased to announce
that in partnership with the charity Oxfam it has today launched a unique
directory enquiries service from which 9p from every call will be given to
Oxfam. The enquiries service is priced at the same level as the UK's major
directory services and uses the number 118 918, with the 9 signifying the 9p per
call charitable contribution to Oxfam.

Spiritel is rolling out a nationwide campaign urging business and residential
users to adopt 118 918 as their preferred directory service. In addition, the
campaign urges mobile phone users to store 118 918 in their phones.

The directory enquiries market in the UK is estimated at around £180 million a
year - equivalent to around 360 million calls - creating the potential for Oxfam
to benefit significantly from the 118 918 service.

Alastair Mills, Spiritel's Chief Executive who conceived the idea for the
service, said: "We believe the 118 918 service represents a winning partnership
in which Oxfam has the potential to receive significant new funds; we have the
potential to make a commercial return; and consumers have the opportunity to
make a difference for Oxfam without paying a premium to the price charged by
major 118 services."

Edward Fox, Oxfam's Director of Fundraising, said: "This is a great new
opportunity to raise new funds for Oxfam and we urge UK consumers to use 118 918
to help us help others."

Spiritel acquired rights to the 118 918 number from Ofcom and is using Kingston
Communications, which won the Best 118 Wholesale Provider 2005, as its provider
of directory services. Further details about the 118 918 service are available
at the website www.118918.com.
