The origins of Tenix date back to 1956 when Carlo Salteri and Franco Belgiorno-Nettis formed Transfield, which went on to become one of Australia’s leading diversified engineering groups. The Tenix Defence/Marine/Aerospace arm of the business was formed in 1997 beginning with the ANZAC Ship Project and the Williamstown shipyard.
From a single contract shipbuilder the company grew to a highly successful defence contractor, delivering more than 100 naval, paramilitary and specialist vessels over the past 20 years, including the highly successful A$7 billion ANZAC Ship Project which was delivered on time and on-budget.
Employing around 2,500 people, Tenix has particular skills in the provision of maritime acquisition and support programmes as well as capabilities across the land, aerospace and electronic sectors where there is a focus on Through Life Support services.
Tenix Aerospace & Defence is a diversified provider of engineering and technical maintenance services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF), with extensive capabilities across the land, aerospace and electronic sectors and a primary focus on Through Life Support (TLS) services. Tenix Land has become a specialist in the design, manufacture, modification and repairs to all major military vehicles.
