Pre-Close Trading Update  
  
Ahead of its interim results for the first half of 2009, Trafficmaster Plc, the 
leading supplier of intelligent driving services, today publishes its Pre-Close 
Trading Update. The interim results for the period 1 January 2009 to 30 June 
2009 will be announced on Thursday, 27 August 2009.  
  
Trading update  
  
Trafficmaster is pleased to announce that, despite challenging market 
conditions, it expects that overall revenue and profit for the first half will 
be in line with expectations.  
  
Business Services  
  
Our fleet tracking business in the US has achieved some notable national account 
successes in the first half of 2009. We continue to make good progress in both 
the US and the UK, and we expect results for the first half to be ahead of the 
prior year. Sales prospects are encouraging; however, the longer sales cycles 
referred to before are continuing, with some smaller fleet owners delaying 
purchase decisions.    
  
Consumer Services  
  
The continuing depressed level of UK automotive sales has affected revenue and 
as a result we expect the results for the first half to be materially less than 
the prior year. We continue to manage our operating costs in line with business 
performance and the division has remained profitable during the period. Core 
Consumer Services revenues and profits have stabilised at a similar level to the 
second half of 2008, and Emerging Products remain profitable, although at a 
lower level than in 2008.

the first half from having a balanced business with the strength in Business 
Services offsetting the trading conditions faced by Consumer Services. The tough 
market conditions continue to provide challenges for all our businesses. We are, 
however, seeing opportunities to grow our operations profitably."
