RE: DISPOSAL OF FRENCH BUSINESS  
  
Further to the announcement made on 10 July 2009 regarding the sale of Marie 
SAS, Uniq's French chilled and frozen convenience foods business, to Groupe 
L.D.C. for a consideration of E60 million (£51 million, see note), Uniq 
announces that it has been notified that the French Competition Authority gave 
unconditional clearance to the transaction on 22 September 2009.   
  
Completion of the disposal is therefore expected to take place on   
  
7 October 2009.  
  
Uniq's Q3 interim management statement for the period from 1 July 2009 to 30 
September 2009 will be announced on 15 October 2009.  
  
Note: £/E exchange rate of 1.17 as of 25 June 2009 has been used for translating 
the values relating to this transaction.
