                         Voller Awarded £146,000 Grant

Voller Energy Group PLC, a leading developer of fuel cells systems, has been
awarded a £146,561 grant from the Department for Business, Enterprise and
Regulatory Reform under the UK's Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Carbon Abatement
Technologies Demonstration Programme (HFCCAT) to develop an environmentally
friendly cabin for the construction sector.

The cabin will be developed in collaboration with GenQuip, the UK's leading
supplier of welfare cabins, based in Wales. These cabins provide kitchen, toilet
and hand washing facilities on-site. Normally, welfare cabins use diesel
generators, which produce high emissions, noise and vibration. Instead, Voller
will work with GenQuip to design and develop a cabin that is based on
environmentally friendly and energy efficient principles. The aim is to develop
a next generation of cabin which is more fuel efficient and has low emissions
and as a result will provide a much more pleasant working environment. The
cabin will have features such as movement sensor light switches, low energy
light bulbs and improved insulation.

The grant has been awarded, following a review of Voller's application by a
panel of independent assessors, under the HFCCAT Competition Call No. 1 which
was opened as publicised on 23 October 2006.

Stephen Voller, Chief Executive of Voller Energy commented: "We are delighted to
have received this grant, and look forward to developing the new cabin under the
HFCCAT programme. This will be an exciting project which will lead to much
better working environments for construction site workers."

About Fuel Cells

Fuel cells work by converting the chemical energy in hydrogen to electrical
energy. Hydrogen is combined with oxygen from the air across a special membrane.
The outputs from the reaction are electricity, heat and water. No toxic
emissions are produced. If hydrocarbon fuels are used they must first be
reformed (processed) into hydrogen gas and carbon oxides prior to introduction
into the fuel cell.

About Voller Energy

Voller Energy Group PLC (LSE: VLR) is one of the first companies in the world
from which you can buy fuel cell systems. Voller is a developer and manufacturer
of portable fuel cell systems that produce electrical energy but without the
toxic emissions produced by petrol or diesel generators. Founded in 2002, Voller

Energy has built considerable expertise in fuel cell systems technology for use
as battery chargers and mobile generators.

Voller is a carbon neutral company. The company has received two DTi Smart
Awards from the UK government and was named by Real Business magazine as one of
the Top 50 companies to watch in 2005. Also during 2005 Voller Energy Group PLC
was the winner of the Power category of the IEE Innovation in Engineering Awards
for their VE100 portable fuel cell system. The Company was also the winner of
the Environmental Innovation & Technology Category in the Hampshire Sustainable
Business Awards - sponsored by Business Link. Voller was also short listed for
the British Industry Awards 2006 and was a finalist in the Growth Company of the
Year awards sponsored by the CBI. Voller Energy is a NATO registered firm NCAGE,
and is a registered supplier to the US Defence Procurement Agency (DPA).

Aims and Objectives of the Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Carbon Abatement
Technologies Demonstration Programme HFCCAT Scheme

The overall aim of the scheme is to reduce barriers to the introduction of
cost-effective, low carbon fuel cell, hydrogen and carbon abatement technologies
by demonstrating these technologies in real applications.

The specific objectives of the scheme are:

  - To construct and install systems demonstrating hydrogen, fuel cell, carbon
abatement technologies (CAT), or combinations of these technologies.

  - To operate these systems (or components) for a sufficient period under
conditions representative of those that would be experienced in commercial
    deployment.

  - To generate and publish sufficient data on operational performance of
these systems for potential users to make investment decisions.

  - To identify the needs for further R&D and design improvements.

The scheme will demonstrate only those technologies that have the potential to
be cost-effective and which could lead to significant reductions in greenhouse
gas emissions. Demonstrations of key components or sub-systems may be supported
for certain carbon abatement technologies, but generally the intention is to
demonstrate systems. Overseas projects may be eligible for support, e.g. as part
of a collaborative EU activity, but the majority of projects are expected to be
located in the UK.
